CO-FOUNDER | CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

Ben Phelps has more than fifteen years of leadership experience across operations, strategy, and organizational management in both government and private sectors. A United States Army veteran, Phelps served as an Arabic Cryptologic Linguist, developing precision in communication, analysis, and decision-making under high-pressure conditions. Following his military service, he transitioned into government contracting, where he managed multimillion-dollar programs supporting the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. His work included oversight of large-scale initiatives, contract execution, and cross-functional team management focused on delivering mission-critical results with accountability and efficiency.

Phelps holds an A.A. in Arabic Studies from the Defense Language Institute and a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Longwood University. He completed his Juris Doctor at the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law, where he served as Vice President of the Veterans Law Society. His academic focus includes business law, intellectual property, and sports law, which complement his background in strategic leadership and negotiations. A former licensed real estate agent, Phelps also gained valuable experience in client representation, asset management, and deal structuring, which informs his practical understanding of value creation and long-term client success.

In addition to his legal studies, Phelps served as Chief Growth Officer for Dartle, a sports analytics SaaS startup that leverages data-driven insights to enhance athlete performance and fan engagement. In this role, he guided strategic partnerships, business development, and investor relations, helping to position the company at the forefront of innovation in sports technology. His work with Dartle reflects a broader commitment to bridging law, business, and analytics in the evolving sports ecosystem.

As a former Division I collegiate soccer goalkeeper, Phelps understands the discipline, preparation, and mental resilience required to perform at an elite level. Now based in Virginia with his wife and two sons, he brings that same competitive focus to OBP Partners, combining his legal training, business background, and operational expertise to help athletes build enduring brands, navigate complex negotiations, and achieve sustained success both on and off the field.
